Polishing Polycarbonates  * Extra Care Must Be Taken When Removing Scratches and Polishing Polycarbonates. The surface MUST NOT be allowed to get Hot due to the friction of the polishing pad spinning on the plastic surface. If this happens then the polycarbonate can turn Permanently Opaque / 'Milky'. The surface must be worked on very slowly with cold water being sprayed on to it at all times to keep it cool. If in doubt please do a test first on an old or spare piece of Polycarbonate. An alternative way to polish Polycarbonates is by Vapour Polishing or Flame Polishing to polish the edges.

* The following cannot be successfully polished -PP (polypropylene), PPO (polyphenylene oxide), TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), PUR (polyurethane plastic rigid) and TPUR (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer).
