Polishing Polycarbonates * Extra Care Must Be Taken When Polishing Polycarbonates. The surface MUST NOT be allowed to get Hot due to the friction of the polishing pad spinning on the plastic surface. If this happens then the polycarbonate can turn permanently Opaque / 'Milky'. The surface must be polished slowly with cold water being sprayed on to it at all times. If in doubt please do a test first on an old piece of Polycarbonate. If in Doubt or Worried, Do Not Polish Polycarbonates. |
* The following cannot be successfully polished -PP (polypropylene), PPO (polyphenylene oxide), TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), PUR (polyurethane plastic rigid) and TPUR (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer). |
